Le Web Journal du Champagne No 4
The fourth number of the Champagne web journal is available online since today. As usual, the authors Claire and Julien Zika posted very interesting articles that, as a Champagne lover, I find extremely useful.
I enjoyed reading about their tasting of 19 different Non-Vintage Champagne’s created by some of the biggest Champagne producing houses. These wines are well represented and available all over the globe, being each producer’s signature style and made in a quantity of 1 Million plus bottles every year. They tasted wines from Moet Chandon, Pol Roger, Taittinger, Ruinart, Gosset, Mumm and many other similar Champagne houses.
I also found very exciting the article about the unconventional pairing of Champagne with different types of cheese. Six Champagnes are associated and rated how good or bad they match a wide range of cheese.
There is also valuable information about le Salon Terroirs et Talents de Champagne taking place on April 15,16 and 17 in Epernay this year. This event brings together professionals and amateurs to discover the newly released Champagne’s. There will be around 50 producers attending this Salon. Any Champagne lover should attend this event.
